What does Light Four mean? (Generation 2)

Last Update:Feb 25 2022 1:38pm

Summary

Does your controller have four solid lights at the Rachio logo? If you look at the faceplate, you'll be able to see that it's has a circle and the logo's split into four lights. This indicates your controller is being tied to your Rachio Account via our servers. The light will turn solid once your controller is activated, added to your account, and ready to use!

Light Four Troubleshooting

  1. If you're re-attempting the WiFi setup process and Light Three is solid, the controller will need to be power cycled to clear the WiFi settings first.
  2. Assuming you enter the correct serial number and your controller still does not connect, please contact Rachio Support with your serial number (including the two-letter prefix) and Rachio username.
  3. iOS (Apple)
If you have attempted to connect to the controller in your phone's WiFi settings--that is, you are connecting to your Rachio's WiFi directly--you will need to perform a  Factory Reset on your controller (Option 2 in the article) and connect your controller through the Rachio app instead.
  4. Android
WiFi setup on Android devices requires the correct input of both your WiFi password and your controller's serial number, to complete this step. If either is incorrect, the process will fail, and you will need to try again.
