Offline Troubleshooting

  1. Check your local network
Are other connected devices working properly? If not, you may need to reach out to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and have your connection checked.
  2. Reset your router
Everyone needs a fresh start now and then.
  3. Power cycle your controller
You can do this by simply unplugging the device and plugging it back in. Keep an eye on the WiFi status light (middle light on the front panel). What color(s) is it flashing? We hope it's blinking a steady green light only. If not, please cross-check the light code you're seeing against this list:  Light Codes - feel free to reply with the light code you're seeing and we'd be happy to assist you further.
  4. Reset your controller's WiFi connection
Should you get a light code in step 3, please attempt to  Update Your WiFi Network  - in short, this will re-blink Up your Rachio and reset the credentials it has saved but keep all of your zone settings.

Please review this support article on connectivity issues.

Note

While offline for long periods, your controller will run the last saved schedule created in the Rachio app. Any updates/changes to these watering schedules will be uploaded to the controller the next time it reconnects with the cloud. However, while the controller is offline, it cannot receive schedule updates, skip watering times due to rain or freeze delays, or be run manually. For more details, please refer to our support article: What if my controller goes offline?
