Troubleshooting Tips

          1. Power cycle controller

            Begin by power cycling your controller. To do this, unplug your controller, wait about fifteen seconds, and then plug your controller back in. After plugging your controller back in, watch for your controller's LED lights to show all four lights as solid. This can take up to about three minutes.

          2. Watch for lights

            After power cycling your controller, watch for your controller's LED lights to show all four lights as solid. This can take up to about three minutes.

          3. Update firmware

            If you still have solid lights but offline in the app, we will try to update your controller's firmware via the app.

In-app firmware update

Begin by connecting your smartphone to the Wi-Fi network your controller was previously connected to. Then, complete the steps below:

Using your Rachio mobile app, go to the "More" tab:

            Select "Controller Settings."

            Within controller settings, select "Technical info."

Near the bottom of this screen you will see "Firmware version." If available, select "UPDATE NOW". Follow the prompts within the app. Confirm for your controller's LED lights to show all four lights as solid. This can take up to three minutes.
