## Is your Smart Hose Timer Leaking?

There could be several causes for this. Try the steps below to stop the leak.

**Check your spigot valve for leaks.**

We recommend contacting a professional for the following cases:

**1.** If you see water leaking from the spigot when the Timer valve is closed without a Hose attached. Your spigot gasket likely needs replacing. The following YouTube video might be useful: [here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txJiZYraM40)

**2.** If the spigot is leaking from the anti-siphon valve with a hose or Timer attached. The following YouTube video might be useful: [here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9NQFo4-OeU)

**3.** If the spigot is leaking from the handle with a hose or Timer attached. The following YouTube video might be useful: [here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scf5ovLI4Uk)

If you see a leak at the connection between the Spigot and Hose/Timer:

* Try tightening the Hose or Timer to get a better seal on the gasket.
* Inspect the gasket on your hose or Timer for damage. If the gasket is damaged, replace it and ensure the fitting is tightly attached.
* Inspect your Spigot for damage. If it is damaged, you may need to replace the spigot. Try a different gasket to see if you get a better seal. Clean out the Spigot and Timer while replacing the gasket.
* If you still see leaking, it may be coming directly from the spigot. You may need to contact a professional or replace the spigot.

## Installation Recommendations

Install the timer in a vertical position for optimal performance and to prevent leaks. To help achieve this orientation, you can install the following accessories:

*   Hose splitter
*   90° elbow
*   Flexible hose extension.

## How To - Detect Flow

To enable this feature in the Rachio app, follow the steps below:

1\. Select a Smart Hose Timer from your device list.
2\. From the Valve tab, tap on the vertical three-dot icon to the right of the valve, and then tap "Edit".
3\. On the “Valve settings” screen, tap the slider to enable “Detect Flow”. This feature must be enabled individually for each timer valve.

## Troubleshooting

If you receive a ‘no flow’ warning for your valve but can confirm that water is flowing, try removing the valve from the Rachio app and re-adding it. You can also isolate the issue by connecting the valve directly to the spigot without any additional attachments. If the valve works correctly when connected directly, the issue may be related to the connected accessories or setup. If you still experience issues, please contact support.

#### Note

Removing the valve from your account will delete any saved schedules. These cannot be recovered.
