What can you do with a Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller?
Rachio is a water, time, and money saving sprinkler controller that gives you access to sprinkler system settings and water usage information at your fingertips. Check on and run your sprinklers from anywhere in the world on your smartphone (or with our web app). Rachio is so intelligent that it skips waterings when you have plenty of moisture in your soil. It automates the amount of water your vegetation needs to stay healthy and green, and it integrates with many other smart home products! FAQ
What if I have more than 16 sprinkler zones?
For systems exceeding 16 zones, an additional controller is required. Moulton Niguel Water District will cover the cost of up to two controllers. Any additional controllers can be purchased at rachio.com
How will I receive my Rachio products?
Our installation partner will bring your Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller to your scheduled appointment.
My controller is outside - do I need an outdoor enclosure?
Yes! If your controller is outside, you’ll need a Rachio Outdoor Enclosure to protect from the elements. Our installation partner will bring one to your scheduled appointment.
What schedule type should I be using?
Moulton Niguel Water District customers are encouraged to use Rachio’s Flex Monthly or Flex Daily schedules to achieve optimal irrigation performance. Click here to learn more about Flex Monthly schedules or click here to learn more about Flex Daily schedules.
Is this my only chance to claim this offer?
This offer is only available for a limited time. Once all offers have been redeemed, you can choose to sign up for our waiting list to be notified if the program reopens.

What else do I need to know?
You’ll have to complete a W9 to participate in this program. The W9 will be included in the confirmation email after you schedule your appointment. The W9 must be completed before your installation. Synergy will also have the link to the W9 if you need to request it before your appointment.
What are the program eligibility requirements?
A full list of eligibility requirements will be available during the redemption process. Depending on your eligibility, you may need to complete a W9 before installation
- Applicant must be a residential customer of District in good financial standing. (No delinquencies in the last 12 months.)
- Applicant must own the home located at the service address requesting the Smart Timer.
- Applicant must not have received a prior rebate for a smart timer.
- Applicant must currently have an existing in-ground irrigation system and non-weather-based automatic sprinkler timer installed at the property.
- Applicant must have live, irrigated landscape and meet the minimum square footage requirements stipulated by the District.
- Applicant must meet the minimum monthly average consumption requirements stipulated by the District.
- Applicant is limited to a maximum of two (2) Smart Timers per service address.
- Applicant must have at least 2 bars of Wi-Fi where the Smart Timer will be located.
- Applicant must complete the W9, after the controller is redeemed and before installation.
Please Note: These requirements are dependent on your eligibility type.
