How do I add another device or multiple devices to my account?

Do you need a second or multiple devices added to the same account, and are curious about how the controllers integrate into the app? In this article, you will find a few instructions on how to add additional controllers to your account.
Add your device
Before using your Rachio controller, Smart Hose Timer, or any other device, you will need to Add it to your account. This can be done in just a couple of quick steps.
Adding your first device
If you're adding a device to your account for the first time, log into the Rachio app and then follow the instructions to add the controller to your account.
Click on the + sign at the bottom right corner:
From this menu, you'll be able to choose between the available devices:

Adding additional controllers to your account
Need to add another controller to your account? Simply follow the steps below:
Access Devices List
From the Devices screen, tap on the + sign in the bottom right corner. You can select to which Home you'll add your device by tapping the dropdown menu in the upper left corner, next to the Home name;Select the Device
From the devices list, select the one you need to add (e.g. Sprinkler Controller)Follow the in-app instructions
Scan the device with your camera
This step may vary according to your device. While sprinkler controllers use a barcode, Smart Hose Timer Wi-Fi hubs use a QR Code, for example. You can also add your device manually by entering the serial number when prompted.- Follow the instructions to connect your device to WiFi.
Once your controller is activated, you can continue by setting up your zones or select, "Finish Later" to configure your zones at another time.
Note
When manually entering the serial number, it must be entered in capital letters for it to work.
Switching between controllers in the Rachio app
If you have multiple controllers on your account, you can flip back and forth between controllers to access controller settings, water usage data, and more. Want to switch to another controller view?
If you're at the Events, Zones, or Schedules screens, tap the back arrow at the top left of your screen to go to the Devices screen;
From the list of devices on your account, select the one you would like to switch to by tapping the name of the desired device;
Verify your active device by confirming the controller's name displayed in the top left-hand corner of the Home screen.
