EveryDrop Flow Meter Troubleshooting
Last Update:Oct 27 2023 4:46pmSummary
This article will help you troubleshoot a flow sensor which is not presenting any readings.
Solution
First, check the power supply to the flow meter. This can be checked by looking at the front display of the flow meter or, if it is a non-display unit, using a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the plugged-in flow meter.
If the flow meter is properly receiving power, there may be a wiring issue. You can either: Remove the flow meter from where it’s installed, take it right up to the Rachio controller and insert the wires into the appropriate terminals. If the display lights up, then we know the flow meter is functional and there must be an issue with the wiring.
If you are unable to take the flow meter to the Rachio controller, then simply connecting a 9V battery in series to the flow meter at the install site will work as well. If the display turns on when connected to a 9V battery, then we know the flow meter is functional and there must be a fault in the wiring scheme that the customer has done. This might also help with other make/models of wired flow sensors.
