End of Adaptive Watering Beta
Last Update:Mar 29 2022 9:10pmThanks for participating
Thank you for participating in a Adaptive Watering beta program. We designed the Adaptive Watering feature to give Rachio customers a more intuitive method for adjusting their irrigation schedules. After a season of user testing, we are turning the feature off to focus on our core app features for the coming spring and summer.
We’d love your feedback
We’d like to hear about your experience with the feature! We’re going to build more adjustment features in the future and we want to learn what we got right and what we got wrong with this feature. You’ll be getting an email soon; please respond to tell us how you used the feature.
How to preserve your adjustments
If you adjusted any zones last season using Adaptive Watering features like “water a little more” and “water a little less”, the schedules running on those zones will re-set to reflect your current Advanced Settings, the way they did before we released this feature. For most people, the resulting changes will be small, however if you made large adjustments and like the results, you can tune your zone manually to match the schedule you had with a little trial and error:
- Take a look at the calendar to see your new upcoming schedule.
- To increase runtime duration, increase “nozzle inches per hour”
- To decrease runtime duration, decrease “nozzle inches per hour”
- To decrease frequency (watering days), decrease “crop coefficient”
- To increase frequency (watering days), increase “crop coefficient”
- Make small changes and refresh the app to view the changes to the calendar
- Read this article for more information on editing advanced settings to change watering duration/frequency
