Controller Status and Hibernation (formerly Standby) Mode

This article will help you understand what are the available status for your Rachio controller and guide you through the steps of activating the Hibernation (formerly Standby) mode on your unit.
What is controller status?
Controller status describes the current activity level of your Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller. There are six statuses:
- Idle - Your controller is connected and ready to water.
- Offline - Your controller is not currently connected to a network and cannot communicate with your sprinkler system.

- Watering - Your controller is currently watering.
- Watering Delay - Your controller has been delayed manually, and all scheduled waterings will be skipped until the specified day.
- Paused - Your watering is currently paused.
- Hibernation Mode - Your controller is hibernating, and all scheduled watering will be skipped.
Want to activate Hibernation Mode?
To put your controller in Hibernation Mode:
- Login to your Rachio app
- Select the "Settings wheel" tab located on the top-hand right side of the app.
- Select "Hibernation Mode" (located beneath the name of the active controller)
- Click the toggle bar and tap "Activate"
Note
While your controller will skip all scheduled waterings while in Hibernation Mode, you can still work your controller manually.
