This guide will provide instructions to prevent and mitigate leaking coming from your spigot, hose, or Timer valve while using the Rachio Smart Hose Timer.

Is your Smart Hose Timer Leaking?

There could be several causes for this. Try the steps below to stop the leak.

Check your spigot valve for leaks.

1. Are you seeing water leaking from the spigot when the Timer valve is closed without a Hose attached? Your spigot gasket likely needs replacing. We highly recommend calling a plumber to assist you, but you can also check out this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txJiZYraM40)

2. With a hose or Timer attached is the spigot leaking from the anti-siphon valve? We highly recommend calling a plumber to assist you, but you can also check out this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9NQFo4-OeU)

3. With a hose or Timer attached, is the spigot leaking from the handle? We highly recommend calling a plumber to assist you, but you can also check out this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scf5ovLI4Uk)

4. With a Hose or Timer attached to the spigot, are you seeing a leak at the connection between the Spigot and Hose/Timer?:

  • Try tightening the Hose or Timer to get a better seal on the gasket.
  • Inspect the gasket on your hose or Timer for damage. If the gasket is damaged, replace it and assure the fitting is tightly attached.
  • Inspect your Spigot for damage. If it is damaged you may need to replace the spigot. Try a different gasket to see if you get a better seal. Clean out the Spigot and Timer while replacing the gasket.
  • If you are still seeing leaking, it may be coming directly from the spigot. You may need to contact a professional or replace the spigot.
